St Augustine’s Centre New Age Kurling ClubKurling

New Age Kurling is a unique sport which combines skill, balance and physical activity.  It therefore encourages the health and well being of people with a learning disability.  It is a form of the original curling game but can be played on any flat surface.  It can be played by both able-bodied and disabled people alike.

St Augustine’s Centre has set up a New Age Kurling Club which meets every Monday evening.

In October a Team are taking part in the Scottish Open Kurling Competition.  The Team consists of people who are both able bodied and physically disabled and adults with a learning disability.

Funding was provided to enable the Club to take a group of 24 people (Team and supporters) to the World Championships next year.  We will be practicing every Monday evening and Saturday afternoon for this.  The funding will enable us to book our Team’s place at the Championships.
